Using Levels to Build Charts
« on: June 26, 2008, 02:40:38 PM »

I'm new to OrgPlus and so far have figured out how to extract the needed chart information from our HR system, Ceridian into an excel spreadsheet.

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

This question is actually fairly common among users of OrgPlus. To correct this you need to activate the maintain banding option under the advanced chart styles. To do this please follow the steps below:

1. Select all your Division Managers and First Level Managers by double clicking on one of them.
2. Go to Format and select Chart Styles.
3. Select Advanced Styles.
4. A new window will open. Check the Maintain Banding check box.
5. Choose one of the two layout options and the alignment option you prefer. The number of boxes per line is actually not important with the options that have been chosen.
6. Select Ok.
7. Most likely some boxes will appear on the second level. You can right click on the boxes now and select Action.
8. You can choose Demote or Promote to move the boxes up or down between the levels.

Thank you for responding...your suggestion worked well.

We don't maintain the raw data for org charts in Org Plus, we maintain it in an HR system.  I extract data from the HR system each time I need to regenerate the charts.  Is there any way to store the banding information?  I did the banding on a sub chart and then exported the sub chart to excel and didn't see anything there that indicated the banding in effect.

Thanks for your help.

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

I've done some research, and several tests, but, unfortunately, I haven't found any way to specify this type of chart style in the source data. It does not appear to be a feature currently within OrgPlus.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at op.support@orgplus.com.
