I am trying to use the command line of OrgPlus to take an Excel file, generate the org chart and format it according to a template I have created. All is working, except the chart rules in the template are not applied to my chart, they only seem to get copied into it.

Conditional formatting on the other hand is applied automatically. Is there a way to apply the chart rules via the command line?

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

The chart rules should be applied to the chart when the template is used from the command line. I have performed a test here to verify this, and the template functioned properly. If you can send your template file and data you are importing to benu@orgplus.com, I can try and see what might be causing this to fail.

Please also include the context you used when importing from the command line.

Thanks for your response Ben.

I ran some more tests before I got back to you and I found that the option -c in the command line may be the issue.

The following cmd line creates the chart but does not apply the chart rules:
"C:\Program Files\HumanConcepts\OrgPlus 7\OrgPlus7.exe" new_org_chart.xlsx -q -y -c -s3 2 -tfho org_chart_template.opxt

Then I remove the -c and change it to:
"C:\Program Files\HumanConcepts\OrgPlus 7\OrgPlus7.exe" new_org_chart.xlsx -q -y -s3 2 -tfho org_chart_template.opxt

Now it works OK and formats the chart with all rules and conditional formatting.

Hope you can replicate this, otherwise just let me know and I can send you the files I'm using.

I was actually unable to replicate this using the -c. So if you could send me those files I can attempt to locate the overall cause. For the time being at least you have this workaround.

I was able to replicate the issue using your data. I tried another test using my own data and the issue replicated this time. I believe the reason it didn't before was because my original chart rule adjusted an assistant style instead of a regular box style. This issue is being sent to the developers to be looked at. Until the bug is corrected you should continue to use the workaround you discovered.
