Page numbers
« on: May 08, 2008, 09:12:31 AM »

:-?When I publish an org chart to PDF or Powerpoint I allow Index and Contents sheets to be created. How can I add page numbers to the printed org chart sheets that will correspond to the Index and Contents sheets?  Thanks

Dear Arnold,

Thank you for contacting the support team.

In order to correspond page numbers from PDF to page numbers on the index page, you will need to perform the following when utilizing sub-charts.

1. In OrgPlus 7, select View | Masterpage
2. Select Insert | Page Numbers
3. Choose View | Normal to show the page numbers to each of your sub-charts.
4. Select File | Publish To PDF
5. On the second screen of the Publish Wizard, un-check to include Cover Page and Contents Page.

Your page numbers in the index should now reference the page numbers off the sub-charts. If for some reason this does not work, select Help | About OrgPlus 7. Ensure that you are on the latest build (665). If you are not you may download from the link below.

Yes, I thought about that, however I will lose the benefits of having a Contents section which helps the reader locate specific departments. Is there any way to keep the index, contents, org chart, and cover sheet and stay numbered correctly?

Dear Arnold,

Thank you for contacting the support team.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to correlate the page numbers if you include a cover and contents page. This is because the contents and cover pages will be referenced in the index page which will make the employees in the index not cooresponsd to the page numbers correctly.

You can manually create the page numbers in OrgPlus 7 for each of the sub-charts so you can add the pages of the cover and contents page to each of the sub-chart numbers.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks, hopefully that is a feature that you can add eventually for those that choose to keep hard copies of thier Org Charts. It would be a pain to manually update each sub-chart, especially if there are a large number of them and/or there are department reorganization changes that occur throughout the year.

Dear Arnold,

Thank you for contacting the support team.

I have logged this as a feature request to be address in a later build of OrgPlus. Once we have a build to resolve this issue we will be in contact with you to give you upgrade options.

Let me know if you have any further questions.
