OrgUnit Charts
« on: October 08, 2007, 05:43:16 AM »

Its seems like no matter how I try to organize my chart, it always reverts back to the relationship with the CEO (the top of the heirarchy). I want to organize my chart by department. How can I do so. Furthermore, I want to see employees grouped by department. Is there a way to select only employees that fall into a certain group (such as finance) and create a chart with only those employees? Since we are a multiple location company, I'd also like to create a chart organized by location as well. Any info would be great! Thanks.

Hello,

There are a couple different ways to sort your data. The first would be subcharting. You can subchart information based on a field name (such as division, department, ect.) which allows you to "roll up" people you don't need to see. This can be done from Insert-Subchart-Create Subcharts. This can also be done manually by right clicking on a box and going to Insert Subchart break. Secondly, you can create multiple charts within one .opx file. From the tab on the bottom left (Chart 1) right click and select new chart. Then choose, do not share and empty chart as your options. You can create as many charts as you need. This allows you to show your multiple departments in one file.
