Move or format a portion of a chart
« on: February 07, 2008, 11:07:37 AM »

I am looking for guidance on how to center a few boxes which are located under a group of other boxes.
For example, I have one chart that is broken down in to two lines.  The top line has four managers and the bottom line has three.  I want to move the bottom three over to the center of the second line.  They are currently flushed to the left hand side.

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

To create a more centered look for an odd number of boxes the best solution is to use the staggered chart style. To use this chart style please follow the steps below.

1. Select the seven boxes. You can do this by double clicking on one of them to select all Co-Workers at one time, or selecting one and then holding the shift key on your keyobard and selecting the rest.
2. Go to Format.
3. Select Chart Styles.
4. Select the option in the top row fourth option over.

This will place four boxes on the top row and three boxes below them with both lines centered.

Thank you.  I now have the seven boxes staggered across the top.  Is there a way to lengthen the connecting lines on the bottom three in order to make them appear less cluttered?

Dear Cervenac,

Thank you for contacting the support team.

To increase the space between the boxes, choose the manager's box then select Format-Spacing. Next, select the co-worker spacing and increase to the desired effect.

Feel free to contact me with any other questions.

I'm sorry that's not what I meant.
I have four boxes at the top and then three a bit lower which is creating the stagger effect.  i now want to lower the three boxes by extending the Connecting Lines.  Spacing does not have an option to extend or decrease the length of connecting lines.  Can this be done?

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

This is in the Format>Spacing menu. The specific option you need to change is in the co-worker spacing section of this screen. You will then want to adjust the vertical spacing option. Please note that to make this work properly you will need to select the box of the manager of the seven staggered boxes.
