Missing Templates panel

Hi support. John newbie here.  1st post !

I've had OP7 for about a week now and a few days ago I lost the panel on the right which has the tabs for Welcome, Directory, Profile & Reports as per the picture page 3.26 (actual page no 84) of the OP7UserGuide.pdf.

I am also having trouble displaying the Directory and Tree from the View menu.

I'm not very far through the User Guide but it is mentioned in Tutorial 3 and I can't seem to get these features any which way.

I'm on XP SP2 on a company build and cannot reinstall myself.

Any suggestions please

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

This is actually a relatively common issue. Occasionally, when you close the right-panel by selecting the small x in its upper right corner, the panel will not come back. The way to correct this issue is to run a repair on the installation. If you do not have administative rights to run installs you may need your IT department to help you. To run a repair please follow the steps below:

1. Go to Start.
2. Select Control Panel.
3. Open Add/Remove Programs.
4. When the list populates, select HumanConcepts OrgPlus 7. (You do not need to worry about the HumanConcepts OrgPlus 7 Plugin option)
5. Select the Change button.
6. The setup wizard will start, choose Next on the first screen.
7. Choose Repair on the second screen and third screens.
8. The setup will run and when complete you can select finish.

When you restart OrgPlus the right panels should be back. As far as the Directory and Tree options, if the right panels were missing those options would not be able to open as they appear in that panel as a tab. Once the repair is run you should be able to view those options.

Hi Ben

Thank you for the prompt response.

Unfortunately your suggested remedy HAS NOT fixed this problem.

Instructions carried out to the letter and everything happened as it should, but despite two full reboots, there is still no Welcome panel.

I have also tried removing ALL ticks from the View menu and closing and restarting the application.

In that case you should uninstall and reinstall OrgPlus. Doing so won't delete any of your charts. You may want to make sure you have your unlock code on hand in case it asks for it after being reinstalled. You can find it by going to Help>About OrgPlus 7.

We had the same problem with the OrgPlus 7.0 that is bundled with Abra Suite 7.7.x.
An uninstall/reinstall was tried and it did not solve this problem.
The particular end user was not prompted to re-enter the unlock code after the uninstall/reinstall.
Could this missing panel perhaps be fixed by a registry modification of any kind that would toggle back on the missing panel??
Do any other solutions exist??
I am the IT coordinator and don't work with the app itself, and this is all I know about it so far, and I can get screenshots if necessary.

Hi Scott,

I did a chat session with HC support, and learned that I had jumped the gun by doing uninstall/reinstall.
The Welcome screen disappearance and non-retrieval setting is buried somewhere in the registry, it would be helpful if you or someone could post the exact location.
Anyway, since we are running the OP 7.x bundle included with Sage Software's Abra Suite, and people use OP through Abra, and they are on Citrix, all she could suggest was doing the repair and see what happens.
The repair did not work either.
Therefore I had to completely re-create the end user's Citrix account so she would have a new TSProfile and therefore a new Citrix profile.
Once this was done, she regained her Welcome panel.
This is a pretty awful bug and there should be something that we can do, but for now, account replacement seems to work, we have trained our users not to close the Welcome window.

Hi tlyczko,

Thank you for contacting the support team.

The panel registry information is located at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\HumanConcepts\OrgPlus 7\ProfilePgStg. Please keep in mind this is not for the Abra Suite edition, so i'm unsure if this key would change for your version.

I would export the entire OrgPlus 7 key from the above location. If this problem re-occurs, you can simply wipe the OrgPlus 7 key and re-import it.
