Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

If OrgPlus is closed when the scheduled refresh comes up, the scheduler will open OrgPlus, do the refresh, and then close OrgPlus. So you won't need to have the application open to complete the data refresh.
I would suggest double checking how the scheduled task is set up. Make sure the correct chart file is selected. Also in the chart file go to Data and Refresh Properties and make sure the settings there are correct.

I do have one other question.  (Though still not sure why my original problem is not working but I will investigate.)  

Can the task that is scheduled to automatically update the data in Org, reside on a server that doesn't have the Org software installed IF the task points to the location of a computer with the ORG software on it that resides on the same network as the server?

Most likely creating the scheduled task on a server won't function properly. The OrgPlus application becomes associated with the login of the user it is unlocked under. So administrator logins won't be able to run the scheduled task correctly.

Hello,

I have the similar problem - Org chart aren't refreshing by scheduled task. But in my case the scheduled task works under account used to unlock OrgPlus 7.

The org chart refresheshed fine in manual mode under the same account...

Environment: Windows 2000 Server, OrgPlus 7 (7.1.640.0)

If the scheduled task does not run properly when the user is not logged in then the user password may need to be set in the scheduled task. If you edit the task in the scheduler you will see a Run As section in the second window that has a Set Password button. You will want to make sure that the user's login password is set.

Hi Ben,
thanks for quick responce.

I've checked login and password again. They are correct. Actually, if something wrong with login/password the task will not even start.
As I said before, the task is STARTING and launching OrgPlus7.exe, but it hangs up.

I am still having a problem with the OrgPlus refresh command through task scheduler and it is starting to drive me crazy.

Was there ever a resolution to this?  I'm seeing the same thing.  OrgPlus7 refreshes fine manually, but scheduling doesn't seem to work.  In Task Manager I can see that OrgPlus7.exe launches and runs (and never seems to close back down), but the data never refreshes.

In my particular instance the problem lied with the data table the org plus updater task was pulling from.

Got it.  At least it's an explainable event.  I'm investigating this for a client that wants to use OrgPlus, and just want to make sure that they can count on scheduling the refreshes as a viable option.
