Create an OrgUnit Chart
«
on:

Hi
I'm a new user - Section 7-40 of my manual tells me how to create an OrgUnit Chart so I can get headcounts by department. But it creates a new chart (new file). How can I do this but keep the chart within my existing project?

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.
When creating an orgunit chart, it does place it in a new chart. The best way to reattach it to your original chart is to copy and paste the chart into the original chart file. To complete this please follow the steps below.
1. When viewing your orgunit chart, select Edit>Select>All.
2. Then select Edit>Copy.
3. Open the original chart file.
4. At the bottom you should see a Tab which says Chart 1. Right click this tab and select New Chart. A new window will open.
5. In this window select "Do not share, maintain unique heirarchy in this chart." and "Empty Chart" in the create from section. Click Ok.
6. You will see a new chart window with a single blank box in it. Select this box and go to Edit>Paste.
7. Your orgunit chart will appear as a subordinate to the blank box after you paste. At this point you can select the blank box and delete it.
Your orgunit chart is now attached to the main chart file and will appear as a tab at the bottom labeled by default as Chart 2, but you can rename the Tabs by right clicking on them and selecting Rename Chart.
