Columns within a multi record box
« on: August 05, 2008, 05:58:16 AM »

Hi team

I'm charting for a large organisation and there are many instances where a multi-record box might contain between 30 and 70 shift people led by a squad of Shift Team Leaders in the reports to position above them.

Using multi-record boxes works fine, but the box ends up one column tall and very thin which scales everything else down in order to fit on the page.

(Our current solution using Visio allows us to have columns of names side by side, as many as we need, usually between 3 and 7 columns.)

Does Org Plus 7 have a feature to do this ?   I'm part way through the 474 page user manual and haven't found it yet (if it exists), but I would be pleased if it did.

Our current workaround in Org Plus involves splitting and renumbering our Shift Team Leader and Shift Team position information and "Reports To" Ids into groups of shift teams renumbered to xxxA, xxxB, xxxC, xxxD, xxxE and xxxR (Reserve) which provides a good visual workaround, although this structure isn't necessary in our organisation.

Thanking you in advance of a reply

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

Unfortunately multiple columns in a multi-record box are not currently possible in OrgPlus 7. This feature has been requested by several OrgPlus users and we are working on including it in a release of OrgPlus 8.

If you have any further questions feel free to contact us at op.support@orgplus.com.

Sincerely,

Thanks for the prompt (although slightly disappointing) response.

On the plus side, it does save me tinkering around attempting to find a functionality that isn't there !

I'll keep my eyes peeled for V8, although we'll be moving to the Enterprise version when we've fully evaluated this product.

Regards
