Visibility with conditional formatting
« on: August 18, 2005, 07:16:45 AM »

Is it possible to apply different visibility using Conditional formatting?

I would like to hid certain boxes and show others upon import based on data in their fields, is there a way to do this?

Can I use conditional formatting for this?

Unfortunately you cannot hide the box with conditional formatting.  You can show certain fields and hide others though.  Here is how.

1. Go to Format | Conditional Formating...  (the Window opens)
2. Click Add and enter a name for your condition (Let's say title)
3. Under Field Name change it to title (because we want to show only certain fields in their box if they are a certain title)
4. Under Comparison change it to Equal To
5. Under Contents type in the title you want (Lets say Vice President)
6. Click OK then Click on Format Box and navigate to the Layout Tab
7. I only want to Show their name and Phone number so I will move the Name field and Phone field over to the Box
8. Click OK

So what happens is everyone with the Title Vice President has a box that shows only their name and phone number. :D
