I am importing from a SQL DB.  I have manually sorted the chart by Name but when I refresh nightly, any new data is not sorted correctly.  It just appears at the end.

Is there any way to define sort parameters upon import?

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

To have a sort during import you can create a columns named: "Sequence" Then define your sort in the column itself. Here is a link that gives an example and shows you how to set it up: http://www.humanconcepts.com/op5/webhelp/source_data_requirements.htm#Sequence

I already know about the SEQUENCE column and have that in my DB.  But that requires me (or someone) to "manually" figure out where the new employee fits and manually enter data in the SEQUENCE field for each record.  

My .opx file already is sorted with the DATA | SORT utility.  Is there a way to keep that sort even after the data import.

What I want to do is use the DATA | SORT functionality and apply it to the data import.  Is this possible?

What you can do is re-apply the sorting rules upon refresh. To do this you must have OrgPlus 5.0 build 213 (5.1.1). If you don't have it you can download it from here:

With OrgPlus 5.1.1 please follow these steps to re-apply the sorting rules:

1) Go to Data | Refresh Properties... | the Options tab
2) Put a Check in "Re-apply Sorting"
3) Click ok and refresh.
