We have several executives who report to two senior executives. These are not indirect relationships, they actually report to both seniors executives for different areas of their responsibilities. PeopleSoft HR of course can't handle this, but I can in creating my extract include exception coding to show these relationships. Is there a way to have a person report to more than one manager? I know I can manually draw the second line on the chart, but if there's a way to make it happen through a data import that would be significantly better.

I tried including the person twice in the file with different "ReportsTo" values, but that only caused the same person to show up twice on the chart, despite the fact that both entries in the export file had the same ID.

This is a common practice in major corporations. I would assume there has to be a way to handle it.

Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.

Here is what must be done for one person to appear twice in the chart.

1) During import you need to set the dotted line reporting up. During the "Data Settings" step this can be done.
2) Put a check in "Show dotted line reports" Then select the ID field you have chosen. This will allow them to be in your chart twice.

Please keep in mind it will not draw and actual line. That still must be done by hand. Also for this feature you must be using OrgPlus 5.1 or build 168. Please let us know if you need further assistance with this.

I don't want them to appear on the chart twice, I want them to appear once with two lines, one to each of their managers.

I can't believe you don't support this functionality. It is common in large corporations for higher-level managers with split responsibilities to report to two executives.

We understand that you would like two different lines drawn; however OrgPlus can not currently do that. We are working on it in future releases. Our dotted-line feature is brand new so all of the things that go with it are not quiet as fine tuned as we would like.
