Issues with standard HTML and printing
«

I have recently published our organizational charts to our intranet. Not that hard. But now, I am having a problem with printing.
While our charts are not all that complicated, when I print it the boxes enlarge to the 100% size and thereby cannot fit all on one page.
Even when I change the size - it prints at 100%.
Does anyone have a good solution for printing HTML published pages so that it will reduce accordingly to fit the content per page?
Thanks!

ChristianaCare,
Thank you for contacting the OrgPlus Support Team.
We usually try to discourage publishing to HTML, because it's not possible to print the charts very well. This Printing is actually being done by Internet Explorer and not OrgPlus. This is one of the reasons we have OrgViewer. It's a free plug-in that should help you out a lot with printing. Please try publishing to OrgViewer and see if that works out better for you. Here is some information on how to deploy OrgViewer.
OrgViewer Deployment:
Please be aware that when you publish to OrgViewer it creates two files an OVX and HTM file. Please post them both in the same directory and point everyone to the HTM file; and not the OVX file. If this is done it will prompt them to download OrgViewer, if they do not have OrgViewer installed, after which OrgViewer will open the chart for them. If they do have OrgViewer installed it will open up the chart.
Example:
http://www.humanconcepts.com/products/OrgViewerSample1.ovx
(incorrect way of posting the OVX file)
http://www.humanconcepts.com/products/OrgViewerSample1.htm
(Correct way of posting an OVX file)
Here are also the EXE files for OrgViewer:
OrgViewer 5.0

Lastly here is a link that will show you how to deploy it from within your network:

While I appreciate that thought - its not a viable solution in our environment today. We, at our hospital, are trying to keep away from "add-ins" which require the user to modify the intended application, in this case, Microsoft Explorer.
What I found as a possible solution was to modify the toolbar then add a new self-created button for print as pdf. I attached the button to a link to the pdf version of the file. This way, people can print it out accordingly without loss of quality or functionality and since most people now have Acrobat its not unsupported add-in.
Does anyone else have any other solutions?
